The problem with Microsoft is that the plans it makes are often from the nineties and expects to solve issues in 2014. Recently, the Redmond based company has announced an offer for Windows Phone owners, that give 20GB of free Cloud storage. However, that offer will stand valid for only one year, so who in right mind will save 20GB data on volatile ground?

Microsoft is in quest of bringing more smartphone users to its camp by utilizing its cloud based storage service called SkyDrive. If you are interested, then simply register your claim before the end of January 2014, and you can enjoy 20GB of extra cloud storage, without any extra charge.

SkyDrive is popular among the users as Microsoft has started bundling more of its cloud storage with other products. The Windows Phone users mainly on Nokia and HTC handsets are the backbone of the mobile OS, and with enhancements included with Windows 8.1, SkyDrive could play more crucial role.

However, the idea behind offering space for a year only is somewhat shaky, and attracting new users to the service just on that is doubtful. As the space is temporary, SkyDrive users who will claim their 20GB will find it removed next year or else will be forced to pay for extra space.

Currently, there are many competitors offering Cloud storage including Google, Dropbox, Amazon and others. The Google Drive and Dropbox both are leading the race for users on smartphone as they are thoroughly integrated with mobile OS and third-party apps.

So, if you are already on SkyDrive then you should check your email for offer the latest 20GB offer, and share your experience with others by commenting in the space below.
